Dinosaurs

The children have been showing an interest in exploring dinosaurs. They create different dinosaurs by using clay and observe the following steps. They began the process by getting four pieces of clay to form the body, the legs and the head. They then shape the arms and the eyes. They pursue this project with interest for a sustained period of time as they mould the parts together to complete their dinosaurs. 

The children develop an understanding that trying things out, exploring, playing with ideas and collaborating with others are important to ways to become successful learners. They develop the confidence in exploring and making sense of the world using such strategies such as looking for patterns classifying, quessing, using trial and error, observing, planning, comparing, engaging in discussion and listening to stories.
